I really love old doors. Doors that have been through stuff and have had stuff walk through them and slam them a kazillion times. Old doors have history, history of people coming and people going. Coming and going in different emotional states. Running in with excitement, creaping through in fear, running out in complete rage. Doors stand in the middle of your life. you cant ignore them. Doors stand between the past and the future. Doors are the difference between privacy and publicity. They keep you safe , or keep you trapped, they keep you out or keep you from harm. I especially love doors that are ragged and have 'seen better days'. I think the older they get the better they look in fact. I love bright coloured doors that are just so inviting but then have creepes and thorns closing around them. theyre inviting but at the same time theyre saying.. keep out. i like their irony. Doors have the ability of drawing the curious nature out of someone. doors hold your curiosity captive. you cant judge a house by its door. or can you? you see you cant tell unless youve opened the door. thats the power of a door. not just any door, an old fart of a door.
anyway, i think old doors are absolutely lovely and utterly intriguing

heh heh
